Latest Updates from Our Project:

Fulfillment & Shipping
over 6 years ago – Sun, Dec 10, 2017 at 10:12:54 PM

Greetings, LudiCrats!

(apologies in advance if you are backer of our other 2017 campaigns and receive this message multiple times - we are shipping everything at the same time)

We hope you are well, and as this year is drawing to a close, you have time to enjoy boardgaming with your friends and relatives.

This update contains information about our packing and shipping process. We've placed the more currently relevant information at the top, followed by photos and video of how fulfillment went, including our "crush tests". Make sure to scroll down to see them!

We have been very busy in preparing packages and shipping games to you. It appears that some rewards were even delivered early, according to the comments and messages we received.

About 85% of rewards have been shipped. What remains are some of the rewards with add-ons via Backerkit, which are a little more complicated to handle. If you have such a reward, please know that it is very likely that they will come in separate packages. Unfortunately, we can not tell you if yours is such a case, due to the hundreds of different combinations of items we have had to pack.

Also, please note that, as mentioned on the campaign page, there is no tracking available. All rewards have been shipped by Deutsche Post / DHL, and depending on your location, they may be delivered by your national postal service or DHL - apparently it varies even within a country, e.g. in the USA.

Another thing to note is that Backerkit shipping status does not reflect the current status of your package. With so many packages to do this season (4000+), there is no way to individually find yours among the giant piles of boxes we have had to handle. You can check out the pictures below for scale.

Speaking of Backerkit, if you were late in submitting your address after the survey was locked down, or if you still have not done so, your package will be sent after everything else has been fulfilled. If your backerkit status is "Ready to Ship", you are all set, and your shipment is on its way.

Finally, a word about delivery times. Please remember that we have no control over how quickly a package is delivered. That is in the control of your local delivery service. Deutsche Post / DHL is very, very efficient about getting the games out of Germany (they do not want to store them any more than they have to), and those are then handed off to your local authorities.

This is why we asked you to provide an address that is valid through February 2018 - sometimes it inexplicably takes very long for a package to be delivered, even when others in your area have received rewards that we shipped at the same time as yours. So please do not worry about non-delivery at least until the end of January. We routinely receive returned packages (usually due to an incorrect address or non-pickup at the post office). Sending a replacement to you prematurely usually results in both packages eventually getting delivered.

As we have done time and again in backer updates, let us remind you to contact us directly, with a message via the KS messaging system, if you have any issues with your pledge. Unfortunately we can not solve or track any issues via the comments, and you can't (well, shouldn't) post your personal information there. So, please message us to get our attention directly and promptly.

With all that said, let's take a look at how we packed and shipped everything!

Well, first things first. Before we went to the warehouse, we sorted the locked-down address data by type of reward:

We had a few thousands of games to pack, and we needed boxes. So boxes we ordered (to a custom size designed to protect the game), and boxes we made, and boxes we dumped by the cartful in one long corridor:

Packing, oh such joy packing is! We packed, and packed, and packed, and packed, for days on end:

Sometimes we took a break to test our packing:

As we packed, we stacked the games in separate pallets according to their destination, and then stuck labels on them:

Then, we called up Deutsche Post / DHL, and asked them to kindly come and pick up a few thousand pieces of mail from us. And they did:

Pickups happened on various dates, so unfortunately we can not tell you exactly when yours was shipped, but as noted above, the vast majority has been picked up. Please allow time for the process to work, and you will get your rewards for supporting the creation of this game.

About that, please know that we are so very grateful for your support. We are an indie company with limited distribution capabilities, and for a lot of the games we make, we could not make without you believing in us and the work that the game designers, illustrators, graphic designers, playtesters and many more put in, sometimes over a period of many years.

As always, please reach out to us with a message via the KS system. If you can not find how to do that, use the Kickstarter website (not the app), click on our name, and in the desktop version scroll down, and then click the blue "Contact me" button. In the mobile version, simply click "Contact" and then "Ask a question".

Finally, check out our Facebook page and follow us there for more updates on this and our other games: https://www.facebook.com/LudiCreations

All the best,

Long Live the Queen!
over 6 years ago – Fri, Nov 10, 2017 at 09:12:44 PM

Greetings, LudiCrats!

Even though Spiel was done a while ago, we stayed in Essen to pack games and eat Nutella. After the 5 minutes it took us to eat all the Nutella, we packed, packed, packed, packed, and packed. There will be more pictures about that later, but for now, here is the long-awaited unboxing video:

We are very happy with the final look of Long Live the Queen and we can’t wait to get it to you!

The packaging is almost done. We have addressed everything that is packed, and we will be sticking all the customs forms for those shipments going out of the EU. We only have to do the the Backerkit add-on pledges as well as the rewards for those who got both editions. More on the shipping process later, but we fully expect to be on time, and we are even hoping to be early for some backers.

We are grateful for your constant support that helps us and motivates us to continue making great games! If you need to contact us for any matter, just send us a direct message through Kickstarter. We will be happy to help!

Best,

-LC

Last Call!
over 6 years ago – Thu, Oct 19, 2017 at 01:19:02 AM

Greetings, LudiCrats!

(apologies in advance if you are backer of our other 2017 campaigns and receive this message multiple times - we are locking all surveys down at the same time)

We have good news, very good news. The production process for Long Live the Queen is complete! We are now just heading to our warehouse in Essen, where we will be able to open up a copy and show you all the beautiful cardboard inside!

With that, with the confidence in having the copies of the games in our hands, we are now able to proceed to close the Backerkit survey. We will be charging credit cards in 48 hours from now, on Saturday 21 October, so please add whatever other items you wanted, and double-check your address.

We will also be locking addresses at the same time, so please take some time to check the address you have submitted.

Remember to enter your address using only basic latin characters, and please make sure you choose an address you will have access to well into February. If you need to, choose a friend's or relative's address. We hope to ship already in November, but with the busy holiday season coming up, you never know what might happen.

You can add any last-minute items and check your address here:

http://longlivethequeen.backerkit.com/

Please do this as soon as possible!

Thank you so much for your support. Given our already tight margins and a year full of unexpected expenses (airshipping components, delays in the supply chain, repacking games, etc.), we appreciate every little bit of additional support you can give to us and our graphic designers, illustrators and of course, the game designers

We wish we could keep the Backerkit survey open indefinitely, but unfortunately we must close it so we can move on with fulfillment in a timely fashion. We expect that the next time we have such offers for our games to be next year in the spring.

Once again, if you have any issue or question about your pledge, please let us know with a message through the Kickstarter system. If you use the KS app, you may need to use the website (in desktop view) instead to send us a message.

Best,

- LC

Let's make this thing, proofread the rules & kickstart more dieselpunk!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Jul 26, 2017 at 10:43:33 PM

Greetings, LudiCrats!

Good news all around. Production is beginning, we are finishing the rules, and we keep on Kickstartin' - read on for more.

Let's get right on this! We are happy to report that the dice have already been in production, and are expected to be on time. We have also submitted the files for everything but the rules.

Speaking of the rules, as we are moving forward we will be making it a point to ask for your help in catching any errors, much more than we have done so in the past.

With the help of our developers and our rules editor we have already improved upon the rules you saw during the campaign, and we would love for you to take a look at what we are intending to print.

So, if you have a moment, download the rules for both editions here:

https://we.tl/r1hDu0HvsW

Then, if you spot anything that you want to bring up, please use this form to tell us about it:

https://goo.gl/forms/jTFX4bDRvO7cuejD2

(make sure to choose the right edition of Long Live The Queen from the list)

We would like to have everything done by Monday - and the earlier you have some feedback for us, the better.

Now, with that said, we have something else to share with you, although many of you will have already heard of this through the Crisis campaign...

Since Crisis, we have been inspired by its gritty dieselpunk world, and we have actively looking for good games to set in that world. It did not take long after deciding to create a dieselpunk-themed edition of Long Live the Queen until we found another great one: Diesel Demolition Derby

Diesel Demolition Derby is designed by the illustrious Matthew Dunstan, whose works include Elysium, Relic Runners and Costa Rica and other great games. It is illustrated by Anthony Cournoyer, whom you know from Crisis and of course, Long Live the Queen.

While mechanically different than Long Live the Queen, it still takes place in an underground part of Axia, a place where inventors and their often less-than-reputable backers bring their diesel-powered mechas to fight it out for money and glory.

It is a game that is as quick as Long Live the Queen, even though it can accommodate up to 6 players. With card drafting that is very quick and interactive, a round full of difficult decisions is over before you know it.

So, if you like indie games and want to join us in this new adventure in the world of Crisis, check out the Kickstarter campaign:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ludicreations/diesel-demolition-derby

As always, please send us a direct message through the Kickstarter system, if there are any issues with your pledge. We'd be glad to help!

Thank you for your support, we love to have you on our side as we make the quirky games we also want to play!

Best,

- LC

Beginning of production, editing of the rulebook, Tramways & IUNU!
almost 7 years ago – Thu, May 25, 2017 at 10:25:34 PM

Greetings, LudiCrats!

Thanks for your really quickly reply to the Backerkit survey! It's really nice to have your cooperation as we move on towards production. If you have not yet received your survey, or if you have any issues with it, please first read the previous update and if you still have any questions, contact us via the KS messaging system.

Now that we have a better idea of how many additional copies we will need, we will soon be deciding the final print run. The dice are now in production, as that will be the longest lead time and we had to commission them.

The next step is to finish the rulebooks for both editions. We will do a final check, and then post them in an update for your review (and yet another final check).

Finally, by popular request, we will release a high-resolution file of the game mat graphic made for the Tabletopia implementation. We will also make a physical copy available for sale at some point.

Tramways!

We realized that we had not listed Tramways as an add-on in the Backerkit campaign, and so it is now available there. If you would like to get Alban Viard's clever tram-line-building game, just visit https://longlivethequeen.backerkit.com/ to recover your survey and add it to your add-ons.

A number of you have selected the Cardboard & Sun add-on, and we will be contacting you in the next few days separately via email - we hope to see you there!

IUNU

In other happy news, our campaign for IUNU has just been funded!

If you like to support indie games, and you want to know all about the game design machine that is Todd Sanders, check out the campaign for #2 in our Sanders Select Series!

Until next time, dear backers!

Thanks again for your support, and remember, should you have any issue with your pledge, just drop us an email!

Best,

LC
